Prettiest Eyesの’Pools’についての、ブログのためのスペシャルインタビューをご紹介します。特に私は表題曲でもある’POOL’が好きです。この曲はまるで現代のP.I.Lが演奏しているような感じで。でも、このアルバムは多様性があって。
いろんな音楽的な側面があるんですね。（P.I.Lだけじゃなくって。）だから聴き終えた後には、長い旅を終えたような気分になれます。
I introduce special interview with Prettiest Eyes about their LP ‘Pools’ for my blog. Especially I like the song ‘Pools’.I think just like that played by modern P.I.L.But this LP also has diversity.It has a lot of musical parts (not only P.I.L).So after listening to, you feel just like getting through long journey.

この作品で一番伝えたいことはどんなことですか？
A
今日の世界における、ダイバーシティ（多様性）の重要性と価値を伝えたい。ダイバーシティには、（既存のものと）異なる音楽的、芸術的な余地がまだあるって信じているんだ。我々は（異なる人々同士）お互いから学ぶことができるし、一緒に良い時間を過ごせると思うんだよね。

どんなところにこだわって作りましたか？
A
今作において、明確なアイディアを持っていなくって、ただ僕ら自身を表現したかったんだ
。僕らが一緒に音楽を共同して作りたかった。聴いている他のアーティストからの影響も曲に作用して欲しかった。それから、アルバムを僕ら独自の方法で作りたかった、自分達が今まで聴いたことのない手法でね。ある種の抽象的なアイディア、それは頭の中にあって変化し続けている、の他には大げさに言うことがないんだ。’Pools’のアートワークはアーティストの友人であるMichael Hentz (michaeljhentz.com) とSUPER_FLAMMABLE 別名 Christine Fraguela (http://superflammable.co/)によるもの。

音楽を通して探求していることは何ですか？
A
ミニマル、ダーク、ドライビング（激しさ）、メロウ、キャッチー、カラフル、ドローン（持続低音）であってほしいと思う。ただ最近の僕らがいつもそのように（リスナーから見えているかは）わからない。

最近、誰にインスパイアされますか？
A
純粋に情熱的なアーティスト、ボーダーラインを広げるアーティストが引き起こす変化に影響を受けている、もちろん他の多くのことも影響を与えているよ。

What is the most important thing that you want to communicate to listeners through this LP?
A
We want to communicate the importance and value of diversity in today’s world. We believe there is space for different musical and artistic ideas. We can all learn from each other and have a good time together.

For that , how did you try to make these songs?
Please let me know from the perspective of music , lyrics and artwork.
A
We didn’t have a specific reason to make these songs, we just wanted to express ourselves. We wanted to collectively make music together and work on songs inspired by other artist that we listen to. We wanted to make it in our own way, in a way that we hadn’t heard before. Lyrically I didn’t have much to say apart from some abstract ideas I had in my head but I feel like that is changing. The artwork for “Pools” was made by our artist friends Michael Hentz (michaeljhentz.com) and SUPER_FLAMMABLE aka Christine Fraguela (http://superflammable.co/)

What is the theme you are looking for through making music?
A
Our theme would be minimal, dark, driving, mellow, catchy, colorful, drone. I don’t know, we recently seem to be all over the place.

Who inspire you?
A
I’m inspired by change, artist that are genuinely passionate and artist that push boundaries. Many more other things inspire me too.
