朝、会社や学校へ向かう電車の中で、この曲を聴くのをおすすめする。というのも、この曲を聞いていると、“欲しいものは手に入るし、なりたいものにもなれるという”気持ちになれるから。そんなポジティブな気持ちになって、日々の生活と向き合うのも悪くはない。特に、後半のブリッジからコーラスの流れには息を飲む。金切り声のように鳴り響くギターに続いて、気だるくも力強い声が呪文のように反復する。曲が終わった後には、少しだけ自分が強くなったような気さえするものだ。
High Tydeは、このブログで初めての紹介となる、イギリス出身のバンドである。イギリスのロックは、メロディアスとグルーヴという２つの系譜に大別されるが、彼らはもちろん後者である。彼らは、クラシックなロックから、コンテンポラリーなヒップホップやエレクトロニックまで幅広く聴き、それらをミックスして曲に落とし込む。そのスタイルからも、Primal ScreamやKasabianといったグルーヴの系譜に連なっているといえるだろう。（グルーヴと音の雑食性に、相関関係はあるのだろうか？ 興味深い。）彼らとの違いは70年代のサイケロックの影響が顕著に見られるところ。そこに今っぽさを感じる。

If you’re looking for a great song to psych yourself up in the morning while you’re on your way to work or class, then this is the song I recommend. It really gives you that “I can do anything, I can be anything” feeling. And that can’t be a bad frame of mind to tackle your daily grind with.
In particular, the way the track flows from the bridge to the chorus in the second half of the song is breathtaking. The guitar’s piercing cry and reverberation gives way to a voice that’s languid yet forceful, its repetition having a spell-like effect. Listening to this song leaves you with the sense that you’re getting stronger.
This is the first time that High Tyde, a British band, has featured on my blog. British rock can be divided into two classifications – melodious, and groove. It goes without saying that this band falls into the latter category. The band’s members influences are wide ranging, from classic rock, to contemporary hip-hop, all the way to electronica. The mixing of these disparate styles that results in their songs.
It’s a style that makes them part of the same musical genealogy as bands such as Primal Scream and Kasabian.（I am interested in the relation between groove and the mixing of disparate styles.） These bands differ, however, in that the influence of 70s psychedelic rock is quite striking in their music. In this respect, High Tyde are more contemporary.

A

A
僕らはゆっくりとした、グルーヴ感のある曲を書きたいと思っていた。そこで僕らはジャムって、すぐにMUSTANG JAPANを作り上げた。
歌詞については、僕らは特に何もこの曲のベースはなくて。ただマスタング（アメ車）と日本のアイディアは、矛盾していてとクールだなと。

A
平和。愛とセクシーなヴァイブス。

A
いっぱいあるよ！ Kendrick Lamar から Jimi Hendrix 、 Affelayeに至るまでね。僕らはみんなたくさんのタイプの音楽にのめり込んでいて、それは素晴らしいことだよ。僕らは曲を作るときにそれらを融合するんだ。

What is the most important thing that you want to communicate to listeners through this song ?
A
The song is about not caring about anything and being spontaneous hence “Take everything you want, cause I don’t care” so we want listeners to just let loose and enjoy the song especially live.

For that, how did you form this song ?
Please explain with regards to music, lyrics, and movie.
A
We wanted to write a slower more grooving song, so we jammed and very quickly Mustang Japan was created. Lyrically we didn’t base the song on anything in particular but the ideas of Mustang Cars and Japan is very contradicting and cool.

A

What artists inspire you?
A
A lot! From Kendrick Lamar to Jimi Hendrix to Affelaye, we all are into loads of types of music so it’s great when we fuse them in writing

For that, how did you form your style ?
A
I guess you could call our style hip hop. We didn’t plan to dress in any particular style it just came naturally and fitted our sound.
